Takashi Murakami
In his New York City studio, Takashi Murakami discusses his three-decades-long practice in which he blends traditional and modern art techniques to create enormous paintings with a visual power unmatched in contemporary art.
Murakami talks about his position as an outsider in the Western contemporary art world and his interest in breaking down the boundaries between art and popular culture through collaborations with Kanye West, Louis Vuitton, and Complex. Michael Darling, James W. Alsdorf Chief Curator, is also featured in the video and discusses Murakami's history and accomplishments. They each delve into the origins of Murakami's iconic Mr. DOB, as well as his influences, including Star Wars, natural disasters, and fashion branding.

Meet the Korean master behind Japan's postwar avant-garde art movement
Few artists can convey infinity in a brushstroke or can tease out presence from the void. The source of Korean artist Lee Ufan's work begins in childhood, where he was raised with strict Confucian ideals and schooled in poetry and calligraphy. In the early Sixties, having moved to Japan to study philosophy at Nihon University, he emerged from a creative milieu as a leader in the Mono-ha (“School of Things”) movement; an aesthetic theory that rejected Western modern art. The movement also explored the properties of natural and industrial materials to show their dismay at the rampant industrialization of Japan... Art of supernatural Japan
Over centuries, Japanese artists have brought magical animals, ghosts and monsters to life.
Stories of these creatures and spirits have travelled down the years, with works of art making this otherwise unseen world appear before our eyes. So who are these supernatural beings, how have they survived through the ages, and which artists are responsible for how we see them?

In 1639 Japan closed its borders and cut itself off from the outside world. Foreigners were expelled, Western culture was forbidden, and Entering or leaving Japan was punishable by Death. It would remain that way for over 200 years.
It was under these circumstances that a quintessentially Japanese art developed. Art for the people that was consumed on an unprecedented scale.

Great art explained. James Payne discusses the Great Wave.
I started "Great Art Explained" during lockdown. My aim is to make videos which focus on one great artwork. I want to present art in a jargon free, entertaining, clear and concise way with no gimmicks.

2017年の結成以来、東京を中心にマイペースにParty&Vomitな活動を続けてきたHer Vomit is Modern...、通称ハボミの1st Full Vomitが2022年に遂にリリース!
Brujeriaや初期Earacheのバンド群を彷彿とさせるJune1(A.V.D.L / ex.Aspirin)のリフワークに乗るWinterkald(Galga Falmul)の暴力的なグロウル、緩急の激しいeda(Inverted Clap / yokujitsu / souk)のドラムワークとギターともベースともつかない謎の楽器Powerを操るTakahisa(ex.おまわりさん)、そしてYuckey(NOISIDEN / ex.おまわりさん)の多彩かつリズミカルなノイズでお届けするパーティーチューン全16曲!
1stデモ、2ndデモの曲もアップデートして再録!(使いまわし!)
録音はnakamura(Leech/Yokujitsu)、Ryosuke Ikeda(Loft X)の両名に依頼し、汚い音を無駄にクリアにパッケージ!
ジャケはex.Aspirinのキャー氏、盤のデザインはミツハシカツキ氏の盤石の布陣!
バンド歴だけは長い我々、推薦コメントもたくさんいただいております!
Party&Vomitし続けてきたハボミの4年半をどうぞよろしく!
